TNEP Workshop
The Natural Edge Project (TNEP)
Workshop – Friday 7 December 2007

Organisers of iCEER 2007 and The Natural Edge Project (TNEP) invites you to attend an all day workshop on, ‘Elements of Curriculum Renewal to Embed Sustainability into the Engineering Education’. This workshop will be facilitated by TNEP’s Project Director, Mr Charlie Hargroves and Education Coordinator, Ms Cheryl Desha. The purpose of the workshop is to address the need to equip engineers globally with the knowledge and skills to facilitate sustainable development. It will comprise both awareness raising and delegate participation in critiquing curriculum renewal elements, including the following topics:

  • The current state of engineering education for sustainable development.
  • Embedding sustainability principles and practices into engineering education (including provision of materials for immediate use).
  • Approaches to accelerating transitions to engineering education for sustainable development.
Through a facilitated critique activity, delegates will have the opportunity to engage in discussing and critiquing a number of elements of curriculum renewal in engineering education for sustainable development. This will draw on delegates’ own experiences and cultural contexts to improve the global applicability of the framework to engineering education.

This workshop is free to attend for iCEER 2007 delegate registrants.
